Plan of Attack

Plan of AttackSpike watched as Dawn bounced off the alley walls with an occasional giggle. He was still annoyed that her plan had won out, but had been forced to make the best of a bad situation.

There was a roar and a flurry of movement in the darkness. Spike leapt to Dawn's rescue and saw a head bounce on the roadway before being blinded by a fountain of blood.

Heedless of the gore soaking her jeans, Dawn knelt by Spike's side. "Told you it'd work, but you might want to come by my off side next time. It's much less messy."

You tell him, honey!

It can be a tough line to walk between having faith in someone's abilities and protecting them.

Dawn's a sharp cookie. Um, if you can picture a sharp cookie ... never mind.

I like the fact that your Dawn is always grown up, and that you understand her awkward teenage moments in the show were -- awkward teenage moments.

I'd like to think Dawn would have been closer to my ideal if idiot scriptwriters hadn't bollocksed her character up and then pretty much shafted her for the final season.

Oh, Dawn was in the final season?

I did like the scene where she Tazer'd Xander and took back control of her own destiny, though. Too bad she didn't get to do a little more during "Chosen", but by then the show was so choked with characters it's a wonder she could move at all.

That's my girl! :D

Spike's understandably protective, but Dawn does know her limits.

Go Dawn! Also, Spike's so cute when he's being overprotective. (Um, and I think you mean 'heedless' in the last paragraph, not 'mindless'. Dawn's not a zombie.)

Spike is rather cute in protective mode.

Thanks for the catch.
