Chronicle

Pressed against the tree, Rose held her breath as several large beasts galloped past their hiding place. "You said this planet was like a children's story. So far, we've come close to being drowned, garrotted and eaten. The stories I grew up with were nothing like this."

"You only know the sanitised versions of tales that were originally meant to educate children about the dangers around them." The Doctor took Rose's hand and led her deeper into the woods.

"Like not leaving the path?" Rose looked around.

The Doctor grinned. "If you see a wolf, you might want to run."

I'd say more, but I've been out to dinner and am quite sloshed, so I'm not sure how good my spelling is. *g*

Very cool. :) And I like the new layout, too. (Hope I'm not too late in noticing!)

Thank you!

Layout's been this way for a while, however, I can be horrendously slow at noticing things like that.

I always liked the style of fairy tales that told of things that lurk in the dark and then those things eat you when you don't follow the rules.

Hee! Yes, there are a lot of horrible things even in the 'sanitized' versions of fairy tales. A lot of the older versions are just fascinating.

I like the older versions, you don't learn anything from having someone swoop in at the last minute and save the idiot central character from their own stupidity. At minor maiming would have at least helped.

Well, sometimes we have to remember that Rose is only 19, and has a few things to learn about how history cleans things up ...

Ha and Rose being one of the Biggest Bad Wolf's of them all. Will your doctor ever see Sarah Jane again, School Reunion was such a wonderful episode. I think Sarah Jane would get a kick out of Jack.
