Salivate

Salivate"I've never seen so much drool." Rose shuddered, baffled that people would get cosmetic surgery to generate superfluous saliva.

"Different customs, Rose." Jack grinned. "Looks like the Doctor forgot that."

The Doctor folded his arms and glared at his companions. "I knew exactly what I was doing."

"You knew the woman drooling in your dinner was proposing marriage? And your reaction was an acceptance? Pull the other one. If me and Jack hadn't claimed you as our mate, you'd be not so happily married now."

"You owe us, Doctor." Jack linked arms with Rose. "Showing some appreciation would be nice."

It's probably best not to think of the things that don't make the cut.

The muse is a strange and contrary beast. It's actually throwing ideas at me a lot of late, which would be wonderful if it didn't coincide with a raging case of procrastination. Stupid brain. ::pokes brain with stick::

The very thought of the whole drooling custom makes me a bit nauseous. ;)

Weirdly enough, this idea came to me before I started seeing Neopolitan Mastiffs everywhere this week. Great strands of ropey drool seem to be something of an acquired taste.

Okay, that? Is just gross.

...

Yeah, I can see some culture, somewhere, at some point, deciding that saliva was a good social cue for certain things. People are weird enough to do just about anything.

The Doctor definitely needs to show Jack and Rose some appreciation. Appreciation is good. :-)

He really should some thanks for his narrow escape from a saliva-y fate.

I don't consider myself easily made queezy, but the thought of that planet made me shudder quite a bit. Maybe the Doctor blacked the memory out?

You're disturbed by spit? I'm sure I could find more disturbing without too much trouble.

Always have been -- don't know why. That's why I stopped watching porn, when the girls started spitting all the time. (Well, that and it got boring. How sad am I, that I want a plot and good lighting?)
